/ WESTCLIFFE, Colo. -- Harvey Goodman's latest novel, The Secret of El Salto, has been released and serves up a fast paced action-adventure story against the backdrop of the American Southwest. The short synopsis reads:In 1860, beautiful Estella Colombo flees arrest in her homeland Mexico and finds refuge at a small village in New Mexico Territory. But, when agents of Mexico seek her employer over a decades-old heist of church treasures she soon becomes embroiled in a life and death struggle. Estella runs farther north to the village of Arroyo Seco, where a Priest, a blacksmith, a Texas Ranger and a boy join forces to help her evade the deadly pursuit. Yet, in the midst of her troubles, Estella discovers her heart's desires in one man's devotion and cunning, and the mystery of a mountain.
Follow the action as Estella fights to stay one step ahead of Capitn Vicente and his ruthless federales, all in this thrilling chase for vengeance, fortune and love.
The Secret of El Salto is Mr. Goodman's third western novel and fifth book. The former Denver Bronco, teacher, principal, and school superintendent's other four books brought two first place and two runner-up finishes in their respective book festivals. He also wrote a screenplay based on his first novel, Along the Fortune Trail, which took first place in both the 2018 Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood, and the 2018 Veritas Film Festival.
